Will IT consultancies soon also need only a few people plus AI agents?
At our customers, we are not yet seeing any disruptive changes. Many continue growing with classic topics such as SAP or software development. Where problems arise, the causes usually lie elsewhere (wrong industry focus, global economy, political uncertainty).
However, no one dares to make a prediction about what things will look like in two years. And no one is ignoring AI agents. The buzzword is “hybrid teams”—teams consisting of humans and AI agents.
Together with customers, we are piloting the inclusion of AI resources in resource management.
We see several areas where consultants will not be replaced anytime soon:
- Domain expertise: If you don’t understand the customer’s problem, you will not solve it even with AI.
- Integration: AI solutions require access to customer data and applications.
- Infrastructure: Cost efficiency and performance of AI solutions will become an issue.
- Assurance: No one wants to put an AI generated solution into production without verification.
Our thesis: IT consulting will not be replaced by AI. Skills, project teams, and business models will change. Be prepared.
